• Unlike cats, dogs go to the bathroom outside. Cats can really stink up the house if you don’t clean litter boxes often. Many people hate cleaning out litter boxes. Lucky for dog owners, they go outside!
• Though you should pick up their stools for health reasons, you aren’t responsible for cleaning up their urine.
• Dogs aren’t just pets! There are many dogs who have important jobs to do. Farm dogs can be bred to protect livestock. Others can help farmers herd their livestock from one place to another.
• There are dogs who work alongside our police and military. Search and rescue dogs can help find lost humans due to their sense of smell. Many handicapped people use service dogs to help them in their daily lives.
• Dogs are great companions. They have been by our sides for thousands of years, and will be for years to come. Dogs just love us and want to spend as much time with us as possible! They are easily trained because they just want to please us.
• Even better, there are so many options when it comes to finding a dog. There are many different breeds, so you will be able to find one that fits into your lifestyle. If you are gone a lot, you are going to want a smaller dog who may not need as much exercise as a larger one. That being said, dogs love to play and you can find a lot of enjoyment in them. They may even help you stay healthy, by taking them for regular walks!
